Lamarla Cook- Pastor
Pastor Cook joined NUMC as the head pastor in 2017.
After a 20 year career as a legal secretary, Lamarla Cook proceeded to get her priorities in order, starting with God. Six years later she took a staff position at her church and never looked back. She returned to college after a 23 year gap to raise children and finished her Bachelor’s Degree at Oklahoma City University and attended Local Pastor’s School that same summer. In August of 2006, Pastor Lamarla was appointed to Clark Memorial United Methodist Church in OKC. After her tenure there, she was appointed as Pastor to Mount Zion United Methodist Church in El Reno.
Pastor Lamarla fulfilled her educational requirement as a Local Pastor and completed the Basic Course of Study at Perkins School of Theology in 2011. She has also completed the majority of the Advanced Course of Study at Duke Divinity School. In the summers of 2015 and 2016, she took the required courses of United Methodist History, Doctrine, and Polity. Pastor Lamarla will complete her final commissioning classes soon.
She was born in Poteau, Ok and grew up in Moore, Ok where she graduated from high school. Her and her husband Benji have been married for 41 years. They have been blessed with two beautiful daughters, two wonderful son-in-laws and four grandchildren
Tylar Gregg- Director of Youth Ministries
Tylar Gregg joined the staff of NUMC in August 2018. Tylar has always had a passion for church and community, singing in church choir for as long as she can remember. In the fall of 2017, Tylar was hired as an intern with the OSU Wesley Foundation. This experience showed Tylar that her true strengths and abilities lie in ministry and she has been hooked ever since. Tylar is also a musician and participates in concerts around the OKC area. Tylar Gregg is a recent graduate of Oklahoma State University with her bachelor’s degree in University Studies
Lisa McLean- Director of Music and Worship
Lisa McLean is a recently retired music educator with over 30 years of combined experience in private studio and public school teaching. Lisa has been a church pianist since she was a teenager and has been involved in Newcastle United Methodist Church music ministry since 1989.
